Glenna, Cub Creek is nowhere near the fork of the Meherrin. Cub Creek is located just west of the center of Charlotte County, and feeds into the Staunton River (known as the Roanoke in other counties). Get a map of Virginia that shows some detail in the counties --- a Triple AAA atlas will do. Locate Charlotte Court House. Follow State Route 40 west from CCH and you'll see the town of Phenix. Just west of Phenix is Cub Creek, the large creek running north-south. Cub Creek Church (and the Caldwell Settlement) was located due south of Phenix and SR 40 on route 619. Hope this helps.
