    1. Transcription of a will
    2. I am transcribing a will for John Caldwell(1692-1786) and have a problem with the County Clerks entry when the will was filed and "examined". The portion of the entry relating to the very beginning of the entry is not readable. It starts with what appears to be the letter H, then room for several letters and then the letter a. It looks as follows: "H a District Court held at Prince Edward Courthouse September 4th 1793..." I would think the very beginning is boilerplate and would be the same other wills. Unfortunately I am in Fl and the as you can see the will is in Va. Any thoughts on what the opening word or two words might be? Doug Burnett
