Dear Ellie, Thomas Claiborne of Romancoke, in then New Kent County, 1647-1683, son of William Claiborne and his wife, Elizabeth (Boteler/Butler) Claiborne. He married Sarah Fenn, daughter of Samuel and Dorothy Fenn, "with whom he conveyed to Otho Thorpe the Fenn plntation at Middle Plantation, excepting two acres on which the parish church of Bruton lieth." The quotes are from the 4th edition of Dorman's ADVENTURERS OF PURSE AND PERSON. It is also in the 3rd edition. I have a copy of the small booklet about Bruton Parish Church, but I find few names of anyone who is buried there. Obviously the land on which the church lieth belonged to the Fenn family. Do you show any Fenns, Thorpes or Claibornes who were buried there? The Claibornes and Fenns were my ancestors. I should appreciate the kindness of your reply. Janelle Via McKown
