    3. Here is a method to help search on HQ. For example, instead of searching the whole run of census pages, go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ selected the state and county, then look for the 1950 census. Many, not all, are indexed with the name and page, then you can go back to the HQ and narrow you search. Harold

    3. I also have a library card from a neighboring city library, which has a reciprical agreement with our local library to receive HQ online. I use it all the time. Several have mentioned not all the census years are indexed. The census years not indexed are still available On HQ. You just have to look at one page at a time the old fashioned way we used to do research. I will second E. W. Wallace's recommendation of Heritage Quest databases. Also note that they recently added some Revolutionary War data. I found it a useful and much cheaper alternative to Ancestry.com's Census images. The Knoxville, TN library allows me to get an out-of-county card for $25 per year. Heritage Quest does not have online indexes to all Census years, but familysearch.org provides the 1880 index and data. The Godfrey Library would have been my second choice. Myron E. 3. Sometimes Heritage Quest log-in problems are related to the unique set-up of your personal computer (i.e. firewalls, etc.) If you are having problems, contact your local library and they can give you a phone number for Heritage Quest technical support and Heritage Quest will troubleshoot your computer and help you overcome your log-in problems. Also Heritage Quest occasionally has technical problems of its own and their database is temporarily inaccessible. If you are unable to access their database from the same computer which you have previously used for access, it may be a temporary problem on their end. Just try again later. 3. Possibly others made the same mistake I did? Heritage Quest has all the Census images. It is just that certain years (1830, 1840, 1850, 1880, & part of 1930) are not indexed. They can still be examined. Just click BROWSE in the upper lefthand corner. If you know your quarry's township or enumeration district it is not too bad. Myron E. Myron E. 3. 1. Fw: Cool website

    3. One of my friends intends to scan their family tree and use it here, rather than a photograph. Neat idea, huh? www.photostamps.com You can put a picture on a real postage stamp. Sounds cool for Christmas cards or invitations. Pets, grandkids, kids, etc. Or if you are from Suffolk, your gun. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
