Hello all, Just a reminder that I have the "bounce" feature at rootsweb to "five." What this means is that you have changed your email address but fail to unsub and resub to this list, after five attempts to send you an email from the list you will be automatically removed from the list. Several months ago, many people were wiped off of rootsweb lists all over the USA, mainly those with AOL, ATT and VERIZON addresses. Actually, this also affected people over the globe. We are a global economy and some our global tech people thought fit to consider anything related to rootsweb and its parent company, ancestry.com, as spam. In their efforts to protect you from themselves, they unilaterally unsubscribed you from rootsweb lists. I sent out a warning about this as the wave was cascading across the plains, but many members did not read the message in time. By the time the wave hit Virginia, we lost about 30 members. I am hoping they all figured this out and resubbed. There was a lot of activity at that time. Also a reminder that this list has a limited capacity for any specific message. This is to say, ten or so paragraphs should easily go through, but pasting a ten generation chart or copy and pasting several pages from a book will probably result in a bounce. These, however, come to me directly. Again, I suggest posting items to the list one topic at a time, and not to include 10 generations, spouses and umpteen pedigrees. The typical reader will usually go to sleep and then delete the entire message, even though buried in all of that may be some good material. My point here is to make the list work for everyone, and for everyone to make the best use of this list. Attention spans are short on the internet. Last, I will be resending a list of some of my favorite links since I have not done this in quite a while. Some of our newer members may know of them, and some of us may forgotten them. Coming soon!
