Hello List! Just a note to apologize to anyone that received a "hacked" email from me today. It's weird just how hackers are able to do that. I had received an email from a trusted source and my "virus scanner" did not pick up on it as it came with a link, not an attachment. Regardless, it was an intrusion on my email contact list and I want to warn you that it can happen to anyone. I ran a deep scan and yes, the it did show up and has now been contained, but I wanted to give you a heads up not to go to any site (link) that you might have received from me yesterday or today. Just to be on the safe side. Again, my apologies to anyone that this has affected. My best, Tamara Mitchell
Tamara, Thanks for spotting this so quickly and taking quick action on it. It is rare that a spam gets through to this particular rootsweb list, but if a user's email address book has been hijacked, there is no way it can know that. And yes, NEVER click on a link whose message is just "click here." URL links ARE allowed within an email. But if there is not context to them, DO NOT CLICK IT. Again, Tamara, thanks for your prompt action on this. Craig > Hello List! > > Just a note to apologize to anyone that received a "hacked" email from me today.
