David/Craig I should have noticed this before posting, but the John Marshall of Lancaster (in the record below) appears to be to old to be John "of the forest" Marshall. Looks like John "of the forest" was born circa 1700 and wife Elizabeth Markam circa 1704. So, the one mentioned in Lancaster obviously born earlier. However, there still might be a mystery here, as I have seen Martha Sherwood was married in Sittingbourne Parish, Rappahannock County, Virginia to a Thomas Marshall (II), who was supposedly born in Hungars parish Northhampton Co, Va. (christened 2 April 1661) "Thomas MARTIALL ye sonne of Tho and Mary MARTIALL - April 2d (1661)" http://gennotes.150m.com/marshall.html Now what is interesting about this tree is the Thomas Marshall III, said to have died in 1727, per this site. This happens to be about same time as the Thomas Marshall in Lancaster died. So, question is: could Thomas Marshall III he be the Thomas Marshall involved in Administration of Sackville Marshall who appear to be brother of John Marshall of Lancaster. Food for thought So, here's the question: Could John Marshall of Lancaster be uncle of John "of the forest" Marshall of Westmoreland and the common tie being Thomas Marshall I ?
