    3. Lou Ann, I feel our pain. This is one difficult family to sort out. Thank God for the 1844 chancery suit in Madison County, VA to settle the estate of Henry-3 Towles, the Younger. I've never really dug into the Richard Vawter line. Hope you'll be working on them on the ancestry tree. I am showing eight children for this couple named in the suit. However, while it is frequently written that Oliver-3 Towles (Stokley-2, Henry-1) had no children, I am fairly convinced he had several children. That's another story for another list. The over-lapping Olivers and Stokeleys -- many of whom were attorneys leaving sundry records in of all places Spotsylvania County--is mind numbing.
