    3. I am an Allerton descendant and the only KINGS I have in the Virginia area is William King and Judith Peyton m. 1683 with son William Alfred King b. 1685 Stafford Co. that m. Sophia Elizabeth Burgess. They had a son William Valentine King b. 1711 Stafford d. 1778 in Halifax Co. m. Elizabeth Edwards. It goes down farther then into my family lines. Janean -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Donald E King Sent: Monday, May 30, 2011 7:48 PM To: Northern Neck Subject: [VA-NORTHERN-NECK] Allerton, Fitzhugh (again) and King I do not claim any descendancy to the Allertons, but Wm and Mary (King) Fitzhugh were the parents of of Sarah Tucker. Mary King was from Tempsford, Bedfordshire, England. Now, if I have any of this wrong, let me know and I will stop here. My interest, for the moment, is Mary King initially because: 1. even though the Allertons and the Fitzhughs arrived in New England, they were later active in the NN. 2. Mary had some male King cousins who lived in Tempsford who conceivably could also have made the trip to New England or any other Atlantic port. Mary's father was named Giles King and she had male cousins Giles (bn. 1625), Robert (bn. 1627) and Henry (1638) who were from Tempsford. My ultimate goal is Arthur King. I do not know what happened to these Kings, but if either of these King men fathered an Arthur King, I would be extremely interested. There are several 19th century Arthur Kings from the area, but that is a "little" late. However, it does give the impression of an earlier Arthur King from Tempsford. Now, the obvious question is - Is anybody familiar with these Kings?
