    3. Craig, Thomas M. Short II here. I am Tom M. Short II on Rootsweb. I am one of the dead weight lurkers of the Northern Neck. Descended from Thomas Short b.1642, died abt. 1685 Old Rappa, who was married to Ann (maybe Nott or Knott, or maybe not), thru their son Thomas Short of Essex m. 2nd Catherine Brown. Their son John Short married Winifred Randall. Other known families are in Stafford and King George. The reporting of any new finds is greatly appreciated by those of us who hover in the background. The possibilities are great, and could possibly reach further than Lancaster. I am anxious to explore. This is a thought completely unrelated to this subject and is loaded, and probably against the rules, and intended for one of the NNeck subscribers who will know who they are, but seems as a timely time to state the thought. I was and old email friend to my Boyd cousin Linda Lawhon who was a mentor, and email friend. Thank you Craig, for reporting this to us. Tom M. Short II

    3. Tom, Always good to hear from you and other list members. Of course this is not against the "rules." Really, there are no "rules" other than good common sense. I don't know exactly what this new-found treasure trove contains, but it is surely some good new stuff. I posted this on the VA HISTORY list (moderated list) and it was not put through. Oh well. That must mean something good is in the offing at LVA which they wish to release on their own terms in their own good time. Tom, I don't know anything about the SHORT family. Perhaps you or another "lurker" here could start a thread on that topic. This list is for all researchers on NN families. If nobody starts a topic, nobody is going to talk about it. Eh? The Knott or Nott or, as you say, "not not" family is one that really deserves more discussion. Craig On Feb 8, 2013, at 8:37 PM, Tom M. Short II wrote: > Craig, > Thomas M. Short II here.
