John Tarpley, Jr. was the son of John Tarpley, Sr. a Burgess, and his first wife, Elizabeth Glascock. (I know it's confusing...) Scott>> And, if I have this part right, the first wife of John Tarpley, Jr. was Elizabeth Travers, a daughter of Samuel Travers and Frances ALLERTON. His second wife was Elizabeth Ripping. And he had sons named John by BOTH wives, who were both named Elizabeth. Confusing--yes! It's been a while since I've worked with Scott on this, so please excuse my rusty memory. I think I am also remiss in my comments about Thomas Tarpley of Richmond County being a Tory. I'm hoping Scott will jump in clarify. Thanks for you understanding, Craig
