    3. Agreed. I see it as more of a way to share links to resources, and to share photos, than to discuss queries in any depth.     3. Anne, I had had a rootsweb list for the KILBY family since 1997. That is not a common name, and every Kilby I know except me is pretty taciturn. It was receiving nothing but junk mail and nothing else. But a cousin of mine in Gloucester County had set up a Kilby web site which was (and does) generate pretty good traffic. When I decided to shut down the Kilby rootsweb list, we agreed to open it on facebook. It's been pretty successful for unexpected reasons. We've certainly found new cousins and new documents we would have never found on our own. To my pleasant surprise, it has been a pretty professional group who all mean well, and no spammers.
