Thanks Janean.   Patience Newman who married John Ford and Mary Newman who married Andrew Morton had a brother Thomas Newman who (as I understand it) did live in Richmond County, VA (same county as Tarpley & Glasscock).   I believe Patience Newman Ford moved there as well.   I'd say their family could be connected "somehow" to Alexander Newman.   Still don't know if or how Robert Newman connects though.   Thanks again. William Nutt father to an Elizabeth Nutt that was the widow of Capt. Alexander Newman.  She then m. John Tarpley my 8th great grandfather who was b. abt. 1165/70 and also was married to sisters Elizabeth and Ann Glascock. This NUTT Craig is referring to is not the same but sure is related.
