    3. Janean, That's where the Family Finder test comes in. I'ts' different than the Y or mt DNA tests You can take the Family Finder test. It relies on the DNA you got from your 2 parents, which they got from their parents with they got from you 8 great grandparents, etc, etc. The Family Finder samples over 95 percent of your DNA (just not the Y, X, or mt). It's very good back 5 or 6 generations, and it also works, sometimes, back to 10-11 generations. I've found four 10th cousins with this test. the genders flip flop from female to male and back again many times from me back to those Common Ancestor. We can guarantee a link back to a particular ancestor or a particular cousin, but we can guarantee that you will get matches from your Colonial America ancestors. Female, male, female, female, male, male, female, female, male, male, male, male and on back. All my lines in the Northern Neck come through my father - through his mother, and her mother. So I'll have to wait to find someone that might be related to my proven line to know where I fit in to things. Janean Ray
