<<Is there anyone who has access to the book listed below who would be willing to look for me the given names of McCarley and Springer listed and the information given?>> Vol. 1: Adam McCarley gave oath that Jacob Beeson was entitled to land on the North Fork of the Hughes River, which is now in Ritchie County. Jacob, John, and Dennis Springer all patented land on Salt Lick Creek (now in Braxton County). Maj. Zadock Springer, who was stationed at Prickett's Fort, patented land on George's Creek, which is now in either German or George's Township in Fayette Co., PA. The territory was claimed by both PA and VA at the time. These patents can be looked up on the VA State Library website at: http://198.17.62.51/collections/ The books don't give any genealogical information about the Springers, but give abstracts of their land acquisitions and lists the various political offices they held.
