    3. Don Norman got his info from my story in the Gilmer,Co.WV.History Book. I found out later that Patrick Kearns was the imagrant from County Monohan, Ireland. I found Barneys Pinsion application 1832. He signed his name Karren. They were in Hampshire,Co.Va.aft Rev war.and a German family came in soon after,by the name of KERNS. So the census people started to spell them all the same. In 1799 Patrick sold his land in Hamp.Co.& went to Monongalia,Co.& bought land, selling part to Edward,John,& Barney. Peter had died. William was a Methodist Preacher & went into the wilderness of Ross,Co.Oh. Patrick died 1806,Monongalia,Co.WV. Edward sold his part of the land & went to Ross,Co.Oh/with William & also became a Preacher. John stayed in Mongl.Co. Have never found what Barney did with his part of the land.
