I have often wondered if others in the family were on the ship. I haven't been able to find out the name of the ship, etc. Do you have access to immigration books? There are some in our library (Danville, IL--I live in Catlin nearby). I may try to find something (after income tax time). I see I copied several pages from Earl Core's 1974 book "The Monongalia Story." Is this the same as his first volume? I was in Clarksburg in Nov. and hope to go again in May. I'll put your name and email address in my address book to keep in touch if anything shows up. Jane McCann Walsh wrote: > At 09:34 AM 3/10/2003 -0600, you wrote: > >Thank you very much. So, it was likely a page from Vol. I which you photocopied. There's the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild which has been at Rootsweb. Gee, I wonder if that is now only available to Ancestry.com subscribers? I hope it is not restricted. You might try this: http://istg.rootsweb.com/ I did try all the volumes and none list any ships for 1762. I wonder why not! That is a bit late for the Welsh immigrants. Most of my Welsh ancestors arrived between 1682 and 1710. Seems that eventually there was greater religious freedom in Wales, or perhaps simply less persecution for beliefs not in tune with the Church of England, causing the migrations to lessen until they began again for economic reasons. You might try 1726, thinking that the numbers might have been inter-changed, or 1752, that a five was misread or mistyped as a six. Do you have other information which seems to corroborate the date of 1762? Best regards, Jane
