Barbara, There was a Hopewell Quaker Meeting House outside of Perryopolis, Perry Twp., Fayette County and I've also note that there was one established in Frederick Co., VA circa 1732 so perhaps as members of that church moved west they carried the name with them. I believe that some did become Baptists. I don't recall seeing any mention, however, of a Hopewell Baptist church in Monongalia or Harrison Counties. Perhaps someone else knows of one.
