Can anyone help me with my Zorns family? I am searching for a marriage record of Martin Zorns and Catherine (?). They may have been married in Monongalia County. Jean, I checked marriage records for Mon County. No luck. I believe they start in 1785. Someone on this list may be able to tell you where to look for records before that date. I did find the deed record for Martin Zorn and Catharine, his wife, for the sale of his 297 acres in Harrison County in 1793 to Benjamin Reeder. I made a copy of the deed; if you'd like to send me your snail mail address to me privately I'll be happy to put it in the mail for you. I also found a listing for a Martin and Andrew ZERN in the "Reports on Claims to unpatented lands in Monongalia, Yohogania and Ohio Counties, VA and WV" at the courthouse. They are listed on three separate pages, along with a Susanah Decker, as "tenants in common" of 400 acres located on Deckers Creek. This is dated 1771. I did not make copies of these as I wasn't sure this was the same person you are looking for. Hope this helps.
