2. I am sending the following letter to all of you that I sent to the White House to ask President Bush to consider my comments. I ask that any of you who are interested in helping the Aids crisis in Africa would visit the website for an organization called DATA . The organization is a good one. One of the Leaders in this fight against Aids, Famine and other problems in Africa is Bono (of the rock group U2). There is no donation necessary. We can all make a difference by just sending a letter to President Bush. Please check out the website and consider passing this onto others to help our neighbors in Africa because, as Bono said. . ." if we just let the fires burn in Africa, they will eventually reach our shores". Here is the website DATA.org . I did attempt to write to the senators of Michigan also. Their e-mail addresses have not been updated and they were undeliverable. Thank you for taking the time to make a difference! If the United States gave ten dollars for every American, that would be 2.5 billion dollars a year – enough to make a real difference in Africa. With fairer trade, and more efforts to ease the burden of debt, we could help stop AIDS in its tracks – and help Africans turn the tide. America, as a leader of the free world, MUST lead by example. If we lead in this cause, we are bound to see others follow in our footsteps. This could be the start of a wonderful chain reaction that could help countries and people in need all around the globe. We need to be leaders in the fight to make the world a better place not only for our children but for all the children around the world. We are forever in debt to all those who helped shape America into the Country that we are so proud to call home today. We must honor that debt by using all our wealth, both financial and otherwise, to help those who cannot help themselves. If we wrap our arms around Africa and treat them as our neighbor, not across vast oceans, but right next door, we will be reaching out with the arms of not just a nation of plenty, but a nation under God. Reaching out and sharing the gifts that we have been blessed with as Americans and as children of one human race is not an option, it is our duty in exchange for the wonder that we are blessed with when we wake up every morning called life. Please do this on our behalf, and show how much America cares. Sincerely, Kyra Faith Prestininzi 48362 Anthony Drive Macomb, Michigan 48044
