My ggrandmother, born in 1844, had sometimes given PA as the state she was born in, and sometimes she gave VA. I realize that Monongalia County, VA in the late 1700s extended up into what is now SW PA.; but I am wondering if there were any border changes in the 1800s in the SW corner of PA. Or, if my ggrandmother was born near the border of PA and VA, maybe she was confused about the state that she was born in. Also does anyone know if there are maps showing the different changes in state and county borders in this part of the country? Thanx, Lou
