Hi, Ruby, On p. 178, in a listing of land certificates granted in 1770, in Vol. I: "James Dunwoody is entitled to four hundred acres of land in Monongalia County on the waters of Sandy Creek on the west side of McCollocks Road to include his Settlement made thereon in 1770 adjoining lands claimd by John Lafovour." That is followed by Core's notation that this land is now in Preston County. On p. 187, covering 1771, of Vol. I: "John Lafevors is intitled to four hundred acres of land Monongalia County on the waters of Sandy Creek Glades adjoining the lands of Samuel Robert in the right of residence to include his improvemnt mad ein the year 1771." Again, now in Preston County. Best regards, Jane ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jane McCann Walsh [email protected]
