    2. Tod, What do you know about Joseph Stanley? I have an Enoch Stanley, son of Jackson (no dates) born 18 Jun 1846, Jackson Co., VA and died 3 Jan 1913. Enoch was in the Civil War. He is my g-g-grandfather. I know Joseph isn't a brother, but he could be a cousin, ect since I haven't found any info on Jackson yet. Let me know if you know anything or want more details. My other line involved here is Hitchcock. They all end up in Bartholomew County Indiana. Diana > Greetings, > > Looking for relations to the DAVIS family below. 3. Something else to consider is that Virginia is the only state in the country that has independent cities that are NOT part of a county. For example the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area is considered the City of Norfolk, the City of Virginia Beach. Richmond is the City of Richmond - while surrounded by Henrico County. Roanoke today is an independent city. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Mdvanpelt@aol.com> To: <VA-Harrison-Monongalia-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 7:24 PM Subject: [VA-Har-Mon] Which county? > Can anyone tell me which county Roanoke is in? 2. Jean Loudin
    3. Divorce records are in the Circuit Court Office. I would write the Circuit Clerk, enclose check for copies in case they find something, and ask them to check. I have had good luck doing this type of thing in the past. Jean

    1. [VA-Har-Mon] Divorce Records?
    2. I am wondering if anyone has access to court documents for Harrison County. I am looking for divorce information on my g-g grandparents, William P. McBee and Aritha Corbin McBee. They last appear as a married couple in the 1880 census for Barbour County, however William re-married in 1883 in Harrison County so I am looking there too. William and Aritha would have been divorced between 1880 and 1883. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best, Jilly ~*~ Open your heart, and your mind, and the rest will follow ~*~
