    3. Hi Michele. I do thank you for your offer for the lookup in Rockingham, Co. My g grandfather John G. Thompson was born in 1825 in Rockingham Rockingham Co. died 1899 in Harrison Co.WV.His parents were John W. Thompson b. 1800 that is all I have on him. John G mother was Frances T. Gray b. 1804 in Fauquier Co. VA. WV. I have not been able to verify his birth I just have this by way of family history. I would appreciate any information you may be able to help me with. I also noticed one of your surnames is Hurst. My wife Mildred (Radcliff) McIntyre grandmother was Margaret (Hurst) Means m. William Means they lived and died at Hurst, Lewis, CO. WV. she knows very little on her Hurst ancestry. Would you be connected to this Hurst Family. I would also appreciate your answer on this. Jim

    3. Hey, Dallas! My Johnson line is also from the area: 1.Harriette Marie Johnson & Harold Blake Pigott. 2. Paul Martin Johnson & Genevera Roy Grogan. 3. Luther R. Johnson & Harriette J. Wilt. 4. Rev. L. R. Johnson & wife unknown. 5. J. K. M. Johnson and Rollins? This Johnson family line moves around a bit my Uncle and I are having a hard time pinning them down. Luther and Hattie Johnson show up in Oakland Garrett Co., MD 1880 Federal Census and the listing gives place of birth as WVA for both people. My Sturms line comes through a marriage with Spencer Martin and Margaret Sturms b. 1790, her parents were Jacob Sturms and Catherine Freshour. The Sturms' family farm was just down the road from my grandparent's farm in Harrison Co., WVA- Harold "Blake" and "Marie" Pigott. Love to hear from you! 2. Emolene, Thank you. I'll have to check out the book at Harrisville library. Most of my courthouse info has come from Harrison and Doddridge. Only spent a few minutes in Courthouse at Harrisville. I have a copy of Tim Eastom's "Nutters of Nutter Fort-The Next Generation". Jeanne Forney published "the Nutters of Nutter Fort" in 1994. It was 400 pages dealing mostly with Matthew Nutter descendants, but had bits an pieces from Thomas and John Nutter lines. Tim Eastom and Jeff Hatfield got permission to reprint and add updated family lines. First reprint in 1999 was 900 pages and latest in 2002 is two volumes, 1840 pages. Tim donated a copy to Nutter Fort Library and a copy at the Waldomore. I've recently started looking at the Clarksburg and Salem newspapers on microfilm and have collected about 300 obituaries for Nutters and connected families which has helped me place some of them.
