    2. Christopher T. Hill
    3. Sherry and Brian, Thanks for cc'ing everyone on the list with your communication. On your latest round, I noted your interests in Justus Heck and in the Kerns line. I have a lot of info on Justus Heck, but first we need to determine which one you are interested in. Justus Heck served in the Civil War, whereas Youst, his grandfather, was in the Revolution. Which Kerns line are you interested in? I have the lineage of James C. Kerns (1823-1898), m. Rebecca Jane Vance. They moved to Ritchie County. Their daughter, Mary Anne Kerns, m. Albert Heck, son of Justus. Chris At 06:05 PM 2/16/01 -0700, Brian D Core wrote: ><<I too am interested in the Smith Family. 3. I politely, but adamantly decline to do any more lookups in The Monongalia Story. Not even one more. I replied to 27 just today! I have plumbing, auto repair, carpentry, a social life, a 50-hour work week, and my own genealogy to contend with. I'm sure that some people have unsubscribed just because of the volume I've unintentionally generated. It's been nice, but let's move on. There are other books! Brian Brian D. Core P.O. 3. Don Norman got his info from my story in the Gilmer,Co.WV.History Book. I found out later that Patrick Kearns was the imagrant from County Monohan, Ireland. I found Barneys Pinsion application 1832. He signed his name Karren. They were in Hampshire,Co.Va.aft Rev war.and a German family came in soon after,by the name of KERNS. So the census people started to spell them all the same. In 1799 Patrick sold his land in Hamp.Co.& went to Monongalia,Co.& bought land, selling part to Edward,John,& Barney. Peter had died. William was a Methodist Preacher & went into the wilderness of Ross,Co.Oh. Patrick died 1806,Monongalia,Co.WV. Edward sold his part of the land & went to Ross,Co.Oh/with William & also became a Preacher. John stayed in Mongl.Co. Have never found what Barney did with his part of the land. Davis was elected principal of Morgantown High School, succeeding Walter Riddle (Morgantown Post 13 June 1940)." "Scott H. Davis, principal of Morgantown High School for twenty-seven years, died November 7 following a heart attack suffered two weeks earlier. He was born in Morgantown August 15, 1906, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Davis. He graduated from Fairmont College and West Virginia University and began his teaching career at Tunnelton High School. He served as principal of Wadestown High School from 1931 to 1939. He came to Morgantown in 1939 as assistant to Arthur V. G. Upton, principal of Morgantown High School, and succeeded him as principal when he resigned the next year to go to Clarksburg. He was regarded as one of the outstanding school administrators of the state. He was survived by his wife Betty, and one son, Dr. Scott H. Davis, Jr. (Morgantown Post 07 November 1967)."
