    3. Hi, Patricia, I am astounded!!!!!!! Thank you very, very much! There is ever so much more there than I imagined, dreamed, or hoped! That is fantastic! Sorry to cause you to type so much, but I certainly do appreciate it. Most of this land must have been the land in Lewis County owned by Laurence and Mary, thougth to be my 6th great grandparents. Recognize lots of these surnames as those of the spouses of their children, too, and they suggest more clues, too, for the unknown surnames. THANK you! Very best regards, Jane ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jane McCann Walsh [email protected]

    2. Joy, Thanks for offering to do these lookups. Would you please ask your friend to look up Peter, Abraham and John Johnson/Johnston in Harrison/Monongalia. I understand that they operated a ferry service somewhere north of Grafton on the Tygart Valley River. Peter came into the area around 1788. Here is my snail mail address Sally Havens 4068 Davidia Ct. Loveland Colorado 80538. Please let me know what I owe you for this. Thank you so much, Sally Havens

    3. I can't recall the name of the library at Clarksburg, somesort of "house" or something. Anyway, upstairs is a genealogy library. There I found a book, "Charles McIntire of Colonial Virginia" compiled by June R. McIntire Taylor and Lois M. McIntire Salisbury. This is where I got my McIntire information. I made a note in my research that states this is not proven. To answer you question: The book says, "Charles(1) of Colonial Virginia was b. ca 1724, place unknown, parents not found. They suggest that his father and/or grandfather probably came from Scotland to Ireland. ----- Original Message ----- From: "nanny" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 22, 2001 8:31 PM Subject: McIntire > Jimmie, you have went back farthur than i have. I found that Thomas McCANN's dau. Margaret married a Willis GOLDEN in 1822, so perhaps the John Golden who witness that deed in 1809 was the father of this Willis. Does anyone have any GOLDEN clues? Does anyone recognize any of these other names??? And, if so, could you give me a clue as to whre this might be? Booths Creek? I find a Booths Creek in Marion County which wasn't created until 1842, so that must be the location unless there was more than one Creek with this name. And, Patricia, might I ask you to look and see if there are any other McCanns listed in that book? I keep forgetting that Lewis County was created out of Harrison and not until 1816! I'm afraid to say that I'm interested in all McCanns in that area as they appear to have been the sons of a Laurence McCan who was likely my 6th great grandfather. Thanks again for all your sharing!
