On March 2, 2001 there were the following marriages posted of the Pritchard's. Can you tell me if the (2) Warner Pritchard listings are one Warner married to Sophie Goens and one Warner married to Ruth Dalton; or if there is a different marriage other than the two brides listed above? Thanks so much. I believe it was Ron who requested this information. Ron, I am related to Warner and Margaret Pritchard (There were two Margaret's). If you are related, let me know. I have a copy of Lucinda's book about the William White - Mary Darling family, Battelle district, Monongalia Co. Happy to do some lookups. Rebecca Snyder Bromley
Hi Michael, I'm curious about that Mary Anne. But I'm afraid, though you did not give any dates, the length of the line seems too late for my gggrandmother. On her tombstone was Mary A. Stilwell. I found Guseman on her death certificate and she was buried next to a ______ Guseman, a young woman--I think she was about 35. I would certainly like to untangle this. I've learned to love the Guseman line and hope we go back to the Revolutionary hero, Abraham. Thank you for you help, I really appreciate it. Katharine
Thank you very much for your effort but I'm afraid my Mary Guseman is still very elusive. No Hiram--darn. Again, thank you. KatharineMelke Reseda, CA
Thanks for answering my questioon. Its nice that you can take of these children. A lot of work, but a blessing. God Bless You Delores
Dear List, To comment on the subject of inaccessible cemeteries, I do believe my generation ( I will soo be 80 ) as well as other generations has done very misserably in taking care of our smaller cemeteries, Our dear decesed love ones have been all but forgoten. The smaller cemeteies were started mostly on family farms. The farm family took care of the cemetery as long as they were living there. others moved in soon interest in the cemetery was not there. The next thing they plowed over or strip mined. or nature took over. There are service organizations who take on the civic duty of maintaining cemeteries. Like The IOOF, Masons, Lions Club and others but they do have to have support from the citizenry also they have to be made aware of the particular cemetery. I thought this would be an opportune moment to comment on this subject. Thank you for listening to me. James W. Mcintyre, 1310 Parkwood Dr.Florence S.C. 29505
I'm interested in this response because it appears that at least some of these folks are SHUMAN descendants. I have a Jeremiah KENDALL m. 27 Jan 1849 in Morgantown, Monongalia Co, WV to Delilah PARKS (no father listed). He is son of James Kendall and Catherine SHUMAN. I have Thomas Jefferson FLOYD m. 2 Jun 1849 to Melissa PARKS (no father listed). He is son of John L. Floyd and Elizabeth SHUMAN. I also have several of the FLOYDs listed, including Henry Francis, Henry Troutman, James H. Michael, and William. I am not certain how all of these folks are related to each other, but at least some of them are father and sons. And I really don't know anything about the PARKS women. Some married into the family, but others are descendants of the original John SHUMAN (1764-1832) of Paw Paw District, near the present Marion/Monongalia Co line. I would be delighted to correspond with any FLOYD researchers who have more information on this family. JS >One John S. Floyd > >May 28, 1849 >John S. I understand the courhouses had a way of burning, thus the scant records. Unfortunately....so did the sheds behind the clerk's home. Michael
Hi - I have 2 marriage lists - one from the DAR shows ISAAC Brady, Jr married Elizabeth Britton, dau of Thomas Britton, deceased, and the bondsman was George McNeely. The other list is from Wes Cochran and shows the same date - August 12, 1830 but the groom's name is John Brady. Don't know why there is a difference in the two records, but if you have been having trouble finding John, maybe it is because it was Isaac. Kathryn
