I am sad to say that having checked the URLs for Freepages, Homepages, and the WWW server <http://freepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/fileman/file_manager.cgi <http://freepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/fileman/file_manager.cgi>> <http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/fileman/file_manager.cgi <http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/fileman/file_manager.cgi>> <http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/fileman/file_manager.cgi <http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/fileman/file_manager.cgi>> she is correct and they all say they will be discontinued as of July 31st. What that means: If you do not have a copy of YOUR RootsWeb hosted site on YOUR computer as of July 31st, you will no longer be able to update your Freepages/Homepages/WWW site using File Manager. If you do not have an ftp client on your computer, you can download the free ftp client, Filezilla, at <https://filezilla-project.org/ <https://filezilla-project.org/>> For other free options, see Pat Geary's ftp page <http://www.genealogy-web-creations.com/publishing-with-ftp.htm <http://www.genealogy-web-creations.com/publishing-with-ftp.htm>> Please pass this important info on to all your CCs and fellow USGW members who may still be relying on the online File Manager that has been furnished by RootsWeb for so many years. The program that the Election Committee uses to maintain our membership lists has been rebuilt and the programmer is still working on it. Because of this we were not able to give access to it for those not registered to vote in the election. We have come up with a work around to get anyone not registered who wants to vote registered. If you will send an email to Gayle Triller gaylelt@comcast.net <mailto:gaylelt@comcast.net> and Pat Asher pasher@ee.net <mailto:pasher@ee.net> asking us to register you we will do so. You must send the email to both of us. You will have from June 1 12:00 am -June 14 11:50 pm to send your request. This will give us time to get everyone registered before the election starts on July 1, 2016. Nominations will open June 1 12:01 AM. They will run until June 14 11:59 PM. The Nominations form is located at http://www.usgwelections.org/NationalNominationsForm.cfm The positions that are open are.
