Debra: Since our FHC here in El Paso, Texas (on the Eastside) has access to both Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest, I decided to see if I could find your Robert L. Watts, wife, and family in 1900 & 1910 Texas Censuses for you. I've been doing quite a bit of tracking of my Wise County families (and their decendants) through the U.S. Federal Censuses, lately, with some success. They (mostly the descendants) didn't stay put in Wise County, but seemed to spread out into the other counties west, north, east, etc. from Wise County. But, in some cases, did eventually return after their deaths, to be buried in several of the cemeteries in Wise County. What I did find for a Robert L. and wife, Isabel... was the following: 1900 .....Johnson Co, TX.....Pct. 5 Robert L. Watts Sept 1863 36 TX-SC-VA married 12 years Isibel (Isabel), wife Oct 1872 27 TX-AL-TX birthed 5 children, 4 living Robert E, son Feb 1892 7 TX-TX-TX Lillie E, dau Jan 1894 6 TX-TX-TX Wilborn F, son Mar 1896 4 TX-TX-TX Mary E, dau Jan 1898 2 TX-TX-TX Rogers, Wm. M, Boarder MO-MO-AK ------------------------------------------------------------- 1910.....Baylor Co, TX.....J-Pct 4 Robert L. Watts, 41 (but shld be 46) TX-AL-VA married 22 years Isabel, wife, 38 TX-TX-TX birthed 6 children, 5 living Robert E, son 17 TX-TX-TX Lilie, dau 15 TX-TX-TX Frank, son 14 TX-TX-TX Mary, dau 12 TX-TX-TX Garland, son 9 TX-TX-TX ----------------------------------------------------------------- (What I found in researching in the Censuses is that the birth (or, nativity) states weren't always reported accurately...especially, as the person got up in years. The parents' states sometimes changed...guess their memories became a little fuzzy, at times. But, what was more important, was that the children and wife would match up. Also, on one of my families, between 1910 and 1920, the children aged the correct number of years; however, the parents only aged about 4-5 years. Guess they didn't want to age the full 10 years .. :-)....But, I knew it was the correct family....<grin>. ) Hope the above are your "kinfolk"...and if so, hope this helps. Take Care, Sallie R.
