You do a wonderful job on your site for Wise County. It is still the best I have seen! I notice the County Clerk has birth records from 1864. They charge a certain amt. for copies. How can I find out if the births I am looking for are there before I send the money, or what do I do? I want copies for any children born with the name of Hopwood as the surname. Thanks, Joan

    1. Off Topic-4th of July Weekend

    3. This is a little off Topic, and hope you don't mind me asking it. I'm traveling to my family reunion the 30th of June, returning home July 7th. I was wondering if the Museum and the Court House will observe the 4th of July on Monday July 5th? I was hoping to stop by and do some research on my VERY elusive Dromgoole relatives that lived in Alvord in the late 1800's. I just asked the question to know if I should plan on the 1st of July, on my way down, or the 5th on my way back north. Thanks for in advance for an answer! 3. Scott, The Denton County webpage indicates that Denton County offices will be closed. Most probably are closed. My wife being my mother's mother, makes her my grandmother, and thus I became my own grandfather. anon. -----Original Message----- From: Scott Hays [mailto:shays@mail.unomaha.edu] Sent: Monday, June 28, 2004 8:46 AM To: TXWISE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TXWISE-L] Off Topic-4th of July Weekend This is a little off Topic, and hope you don't mind me asking it. 3. Richard, Thanks for the info, but yes I did already have that. I was going to use that information and what little more I have to hopefully find some death certificates, or some kind of tax information or anything to try to get past the brick wall of this family disappearing. Seems they just appeared out of no-where in 1880. I know they're lurking in the shadows somewhere.
