    2. Excuse me this could be a quencedence but I too am looking at a simular situation with my grandmother and your story sounds close enough for horseshoes. All the info we have is that my grandmother was born in Paradise,tx on Aug.29,1917 her mother died shortly and she lived with grandparents till there death ? ,and was placed into an orphanage in FT.Worth untill she was adopted a few years later .She was put into the home around the age of 4-5 yrs. of age. But your story sounded so close to mine. Richard Stracener-Please reply!

    3. Do you have any pictures of her? I have a picture of my grandmother and Louise. My grandmother was born in 1901 in Bridgeport. My grandmother looks like she is at least 14 or so and the little girl with her looks possibly preschool age. I also have a studio picture of a grown woman that may be the same peson. She is beautiful. We have all laughed and said she is too pretty to be related to us. Tomorrow I will get my husband to show me how to copy them and send them to you. My grandmother married in 1920. On the back of this picture it is written Carrie West and Louise Turnbow. My grandmother became Carrie Minor in 1920. My great-grandparents were Sam and Laura West. He was a rural mailcarrier, a Mason and a Baptist. They married in Bridgeport in 1888 and moved to Ft. Worth in the early 1930s. He died in 1935 and she in 1947. My grandmother died in 1990. Please write me back.
