I am not sure if I am related to Skippy Lester or not. I do know that my grandparents moved to Alvord around 1941-42. That's where most of the children graduated from high school. My dad was at Bridgeport High School and on the football team around 1941. He would have graduated in !944-45, but joined the Marine Corps in 1941 instead. My dad's youngest sister, Edna Frances Lester, would have been about your age. Is there any way to find out the names of the teachers at BHS during the time frame that my dad was there? My grandfather owned a car repair business in Bridgeport until they moved to Alvord. Thanks again for the info. (My graduating class was 1954) We did have a Great hang out in Bridgeport called Lester's Drug Store. Faye Lester was the daughter of Mr. Lester, and she married John Burt, pharm. who continued the store under Mr. Lester's name. There was a large Lester family in Decatur. I knew of Belle, who married Gene Shanks, and a younger brother,Skippy Lester, who was nearer my age. Skippy Lester dated a friend of mine, Joanne Shanks, sister of Gene Shanks. Guess it ws a sort of family connection. Casual dates only. About all the help I can be, I'm afraid. If you are any connection to Belle, I can put you in touch with her through Joanne. Grandfather-Thomas Bryan Lester, grandmother-Connie Frances Jordan) They were in Bridgeport, Alvord and Decatur from the mid to late 1920's. My grandfather owned a business in Bridgeport and my dad (Connie Mack Lester) and his siblings went to school in these towns. Thanks for your response to my question. Great website!! Connie Sullivan
