Cheryl: John Blanton's name is also mentioned in the Deed information I sent you. There is also a mention of Ben Blanton in my book, "Thistle Hill, The Cattle Baron's Legacy" by Roze McCoy Porter, page 18. He was one of the cattlemen who lived on a ranch in the vicinity between Bridgeport and Chico, 1866. Hope this information helps you. It wouldn't be the same Ben Blanton but could be a son.
