Dear Cheryl: In the Red River County newspaper, published at Clarksville, Texas there is a story of Benjamin Blanton being murdered December 24, 1842 on Pecan Bayou. The reason I mention this is that in the Red River County deed Abstracts, it gives Benjamin Blanton and Jacob Blanton as selling to Amos Morrell 600 acres on Pecan Bayou. Could this be your Jacob?
