I found your email address through a Yahoo search on the Internet. I have found found a possible clue to my family history associated with Wise County. I am writting to ask for your assistance in finding someone who might assist me in following up on the clue. My great-great-great-great grandfather's brother was murdered in the Goliad Massacre during the Texas Revolution. As a result of his settling in Texas, serving in the Revolution, and being killed at Goliad, his estate was awarded some 2500+ acres of land in Texas. I have requested and recieved copies of all the records available from the Texas General Land Office concerning the estate. The land was apparently in Archer County. However, in the GLO records it was noted that a power of attorney from the file was released for use in a lawsuit in Wise County in the 1870's. I'm am searching for someone who might help me in checking the Wise County records to see if any of the data might identify parents, siblings, or children.
