Hey, am I the only old person on this list? I never knew one grandmother and the other died when I was all of seven years of age. It did bring back memories though as I can remember my mother wearing one. Another thing that mother wore which I guess one would say is outdated today, was a bonnet. Can't say that we still have one of her's but we do have five that belonged to my wife's mother and one of her grandmothers.
How old does one have to be to qualify as an "old person"? I'm certainly not young and one of my grandmothers was 79 1/2 yrs. old when I was born (my dad was born when she was in her 40's and I was born when my dad was in his 30's.) but she lived 1/4 mi. down the road from us so I saw her almost daily and remember her very well even though she died when I was 9 yrs. old. My other grandmother married when she was barely 18 and had her first child, my mother, before she was 19. She died when she was only 73, but I was fortunate enough to have her in my life until I was barely 27 and just a few days after my first child was born. How lucky I feel that both of these women were in my life long enough for me to have wonderful memories!!
