Hi, I checked the book BIRTH RECORDS WISE COUNTY, TEXAS 1864-1902, by Julian G Allen, 1907. In it I found listed the birth of WEST Samuel Edgar 03/24/1901 Male Decatur (15106) * WEST John (AR) * RUSHING Myrtle T (TX). Also listed is the birth of WEST Carrie Ellen 03/02/1901 Female Bridgeport (22086)* WEST Samuel Martin (TX) * SULLINS Laura Ellen (MO). Also listed is the birth of WEST Sidney Littleton 02/06/1900 Male Paradise (10022) * WEST Samuel Littleton (AL) * TOWRY Margaret Elizabeth (AR). These are the only "Sam" West's that are listed. Hope it helps. My GGGrandmother is Tempa Ann West (1847-1930)and married Kerney McDonald (1843-1900). Tempa's parents are James Madden West and Elizabeth W. Sullivan from Tennessee. I have more information on the West and Sullivan sides of the family if interested. Thank you, Donna > >
Samuel Martin West was my greatgrandfather. I believe my grandmother (Carrie West) told me that her father SMW was born in Tarrant County near Keller and Southlake. It was a community called Lonesome Dove. I found the cemetary with my mother years ago, but I did not get information about how to find out who and where people are buried there. I know Carrie Ellen West Minor had a cousin named Earnest Jones and he owned a hardware store. I believe he had a deaf brother named Newt. I would love to have any information about the West family. Sam West had an older brother that lived in Bridgeport before he went there. I believe he married (Laura Ellen Sullins West), was a sister to his brother'w wife. I am not positive about that. There were second cousins somewhere in that generation of the family. I know Sam West was a Mason and belonged to the lodge in Bridgeport and the First Baptist Church. He was a rural mail man. He used a horse and buggy to deliver the mail. Later he used a car. In 1901 they lived right by the East Cemetary. ----- Original Message ----- From: "MERAL DAVIS" <meda@advantexmail.net> To: <TXWISE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 22, 2004 9:22 PM Subject: Re: [TXWISE-L] Sam West > Hi, > > I checked the book BIRTH RECORDS WISE COUNTY, TEXAS 1864-1902, by Julian G > Allen, 1907. > > In it I found listed the birth of WEST Samuel Edgar 03/24/1901 Male > Decatur (15106) * WEST John (AR) * RUSHING Myrtle T (TX). > > Also listed is the birth of WEST Carrie Ellen 03/02/1901 Female Bridgeport > (22086)* WEST Samuel Martin (TX) * SULLINS Laura Ellen (MO). > > Also listed is the birth of WEST Sidney Littleton 02/06/1900 Male Paradise > (10022) * WEST Samuel Littleton (AL) * TOWRY Margaret Elizabeth (AR). > > These are the only "Sam" West's that are listed.
