    2. Terry, I would start at the Museum. They have books and files of information there and if you have dates, they can do obit lookups. Then I would go to the records building which is across the street from the courthouse on the corner in downtown Decatur. There you will find court cases, wills, probates, land records. And you get to touch all of the big volumes of books and go through them yourself! Be sure to have 3 or 4 hours though. You will be surprised how much time flies when you are having fun!
