There is a cemetery association for the Alvord Cemetery. I am sure I know where my ancestor is buried and they said I could put a marker there. But they don't have any records that go way back. I found a notice of the death of my ancestor in the Wise County Messenger. But I know with the Alvord Cemetery, they have a list of who bought the property but not who was buried in the plots. And back in the early 20's at Alvord, a person could take as much property for the same price, that they thought they might need. I am missing 3 ancestors that I am sure are buried at Alvord, according to their Death Cert. and I am certain they are in the plot that everyone else is but I can't prove it.
