In the 1870 Census on Ancestry, if you Choose to browse by location (not using the Ancestry Search Engine), then choose Texas, then choose Wise county. The first page of precinct 1 shows on line 1 Alexander E. age 1, b. TX. This is for handwritten page 11 and stamped page 494. This page was recorded on Aug 9, 1870. Now what is interesting is that if you use the Ancestry search engine you don't find any Alexander family members in Wise county in 1870. Moreover, if you go to the Wise County web page and look in their index for 1870 for Alexander, you don't find any there either. I think you will need to look at the microfilm rolls to resolve this problem. I looked at the images of these pages, and I think the last name on page 10 is Walker. Then on page 11, its the same household but they didn't rewrite the last name, so the given name was Alexander. I'll send you the snip of these census pages in separate emails. I also pulled up ED 130, page 11 from the 1880 census and will send the Alexander family for you to look at.
