Thanks Tommy - some one else mailed it and it was a given name not a sur name. I have his 1880 census listing - he is just hard to find anywhere before 1872.. He was my father's favorite grandfather - old CSA veteran - supposedly from around Milledgeville GA - But no record anywhere before marriage to Mary Francis Daniels in 1872 Dallas Co.
