I have been trying for some time to verify information on Louis C. Johnson whose mother was a first cousin to my father. Louis was a son of Fannie Boon Crenshaw, oldest daughter of Louis Dorson Crenshaw and Martha Wilmoth "Mattie" (Robertson) Crenshaw who lived in Wise Co. beginning about 1894, and William Elmo Johnson. Apparently Fannie and William moved from (probably) Hall Co., TX, 1900 or thereabouts to live with her parents because of her husband's illness. Louis C. was born there ca. 1900/1901 and William Elmo (the father) died ca. 1902. Louis C. grew up, married (Alice Gertrude Wallace) and apparently had two sons and died ca. 1930. I haven't found a death record for either Louis C. or William Elmo but find cemetery records for "L.C. Johnson, 12-13-1900 to 9-30-1930, Keeter, 56" and for "William Johnson, 4-15-1815 to 1-29-1902, Chico, 1610." in Wise Co. The dates for Louis C. are close enough to suspect that this is "mine" and there's simply some confusion over months and years. Except for the birthdate ("mine" b. ca. 1875, but perhaps this is a transcription error), this William Johnson might be mine. I can't find additional information to prove or disprove my connection to these people buried in Wise Co. I have been revisiting this information and looking for additional proof for several years! Can anyone shed any light on this??? There is an additional mystery surrounding this family. In 1906 Fannie Boon Crenshaw (Johnson) m. William Edward Emmons in Wise Co. In the 1910 census they are still in Wise Co. with two young Emmons sons but no sign of her Johnson children. By 1920 she and her second husband had moved to Hall or Briscoe Co., TX , and they remained in that area until the death of Fannie and Will in the 1960's. I will be eternally grateful if anyone can help me with even a small part of this conundrum!
