If you order a certificate from the Wise County Clerk's office, it will be certified and costs $22.00 each. Certification is necessary to obtain passports and many other legal documents. Eleanor, The list of all the birth certificates that are available are on" http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~drycreek/BC-Avail.htm Some of them are before 1900. Eventually the list will extend to 1929. When you find one that you want me to send you, please send me a note and include: both the certificate number and the father's name. You can do this with a copy and paste.
