Here is a member of Co. B : C.W. Huff in Wise County is where he enlisted in the newly formed Company "B" Frontier Battalion, organized and recruited at Decatur, on May 16, 1874. Records describe young Mr. Huff as born in Missouri, and 20 years of age. He stood 5 feet 10" and had auburn hair with blue eyes. C.W. Huff served with the Company, in Young and Jack Counties, until December 1874. Due to the State Treasury being unable to sustain all the men in the six Companies of the Frontier Battalion, a large man-power cut was ncccessaiy. On December 10,1874, C.W. Huff, along with about half of his Company, was given an Honorable Discharge. C.W. Huff's family were the Huff's involved in "Huff's Massacre" near Decatur...his mother and two sisters were killed.
