I have just found a marriage license from my great grandfather who was married in wise county oct 29 1895. my great grandmothers name is different from what we knew her by. I am just puzzled and maybe this was some big family secret?? My g gf left soon after a son (my grandfather) was born and never returned. This has always been a mystery to my sister and me. Now that our mom is gone we are trying to understand. I have the vol and pg # for license. Does this lead me anywhere??? My great-grandmother ended up in wheeler county but I have pic of this ggf made in Denton. (I live in Amarillo but have son in Arlington , niece/nephew in Denton—all in college, so my sis and I get there often.) Any suggestions???? Its Volume 3 Pg 170-Wise County G Dan Farmer and Minnie Tague. We knew of her as Minnie Stevens. We think their son was born in 1898 but with Dan leaving so quickly it might have been sooner?? His name was Fredrick Franklin Farmer born Jan 9, 189? I attempted to find a birth certificate in Denton county a few yrs ago with no luck. If her last name isn't one that you've seen before you might also check the last name TEAGUE----it might have been misspelled on the license. Checking the last name out might answer some questions.
