Grider d. 1780 Fannin, Texas, married to Rebecca Saunders in Adair County, KY before moving to Texas. These Griders are ancestors of mine and I do know that two of John's brothers served in the Texas Cavalry during the Civil War, named Joseph and Thomas. I believe they lived and died after the war in Wise County. I have a Mexican American War Muster Record showing John Grider as age 22 in 1846 when he died in a hospital in October of 1946 in Santa Fe, NM while attached to Capt Robinson's Company H of the Missouri Mounted Cavalry from Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. I have Private Grider being born in Adair, Kentucky in 1815 which would make him about 32 in 1946. Do you have any information about Private John Grider, son of John F. Grider?
