Was Guinn "Big Boy" Williams a large man?  I remember Guinn "Big Boy" as being large - cowboy large. Another poster on this list says he has just seen "The Alamo" with him in it. It has been a long time since I have seen it, so . . . He was also in "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers;" more can be found on IMDB. Do you have any idea if any of your Williams family were ever in Giles Co.  TN? As far as a connection with the William Daniel Williams family which came to Wise County in the 1890s, my Williams family came to Jackson County, Alabama, around 1810 from Greene County, Tennessee. Giles County, Tennessee, is not near Greene County, but is on the border with Alabama. It is nearer to Jackson County, Alabama, but still a good distance away. I'm not seeing any locations that would indicate a relationship, but who knows!  Where did your family come from before Giles County? --  Martha  Genealogy - So many ancestors...so little time!

John Wayne was 6'4" and Big Boy was pretty close in size to him. I remember reading somewhere, that he worked on cattle ranches before going to Hollywood.
