Dear Pat: Yes, I do use iMac and MacBook Pro computers. However, I use a Parallels program with a windows XP operating system in it so that I can use Family Tree Maker. I have been considering trying to use one of the two programs I've seen of genealogy, but haven't talked to anyone who uses them (don't know yet where to find them) It is a pain in the neck to switch back and fourth between operating systems, but that is what I'm doing for now.
