    3. Here is what I found. No luck on finding Sage Graveyard or Sage Cemetery. David Pitts Houston TX 1860 Census, Wise county Texas, Catlett Creek Post Office, page 5, page 307 (stamped), line 27 Ben P Russell Age in 1860: 31 Birth Year: abt 1829 Birthplace: Tennessee Home in 1860: Wise, Texas Gender: Male Post Office: Catlett Creek Value of real estate: View Image Household Members: Name Age Ben P Russell 31, b. TX I can't find this family in Wise county in 1870. In fact I can't find them anywhere in 1870. Robert was married to Mary Carie Wright in Hays County Texas in 1873 according to one researcher on rootsweb world connect. County Seat San Marcos. Alice as married to Thomas Absalom Taylor in 1873 in Fort Worth Texas according to another researcher on rootsweb world connect. All these researchers claim that Benjamin Pike Russell died in Decatur, Wise County Texas on Oct 25, 1867, but none give a reference. 3. Thanks for the help! I have the 1860 census but not 1870. Martha is supposed to have moved to San Saba shortly after Ben died in 1867. I have the 1880 census for Martha and six of the children in San Saba Co. I have typed copies of several letters that Benjamin wrote home during the Civil War. Is that something you would like to make copies of for your records? Have a great day! 3. Does anyone know what the attraction was that drew so many fro the Wise Co. area to SanSaba Co. around the 1870s? My great great grandmother Susannah Woody Vandoren moved there after the 1870 census in Parker Co with 3 of her young daughters. What did she do for a living there? Why would she leave her family? I'm really curious.
