I will be out of the office starting 01/28/2004 and will not return until 02/04/2004. Scott is on Holiday once again. This time to Puerta Villarta, Mexico. Don't be jealous. Just remember he'll bring a can of warm weather back with him.
That's good for Outlook Express, and thanks for the reminder, but what about Netscape? Mary Wendland Terry Snyder wrote: >Thank you Lynn - that seems to have done the trick! With Outlook Express go to TOOLS then MESSAGE RULES then BLOCKED SENDERS LIST then add Scott Hayes address i.e., shays@mail.unmaha.edu worked for me Troyce twwiley@sbcglobal.net
I wonder if Mr Hays will ever understand why no one will ever see his messages to the list (if he sends any) and/or answers them?! -----Original Message----- From: Vanessa Burzynski [mailto:burzynsk@swbell.net] Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2004 12:59 PM To: TXWISE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TXWISE-L] help what can i do to stop the emails? It is up to the mailing list administrator to unsubscribe this person from this list. Otherwise every single e-mail, including this one, that goes to the list will generate another response from this guy's auto-responder. Even his own auto-responses will generate another e-mail back to the list, which starts the whole thing over again in a continuous cycle that will never end until his email address is removed from the list. I have sent an email to the administrator. Let's hope they get this taken care of soon before we all run out of room in our inboxes and our fingers get tired of pushing the delete button. I tried what Lynn suggested and it worked for Scott's emails. Thank you Lynn for the fix!!!! I'm going to assume you are using Microsoft Outlook, or Microsoft Outlook Express, so in order to block a sender from your email box do the following, step-by-step. Open Outlook (just like you were going to send an email, and at the top of the screen along the menu bar look for the word "Tools," click on that and a drop down window will appear ... now, Click on MESSAGE RULES Click on MAIL You'll see a three pane window drop down and in the top window, put a check mark in the line "Where the from line contains people." In the middle window, put a check mark in the line "Delete It" In the bottom pane you will see some of the writing is in blue and will say "contains people" and another window will open up and in the top line of this window type shays@mail.unomaha.edu (without quotes), now click on the ADD button, and click OK at the bottom, and as you move back, always click on the OK button at the bottom of each window and you progress back to the beginning. From this point forward, any mail from Mr. Hays will immediately go into your delete file and you will never see it (unless you chose to open the delete folder). Good luck ...... If you have an email program other than Microsoft, I'm sure there are provisions provided to block senders in that program as well. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anna Graves" <agraves@mailclerk.ecok.edu> To: <TXWISE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2004 1:55 PM Subject: Re: [TXWISE-L] help what can i do to stop the emails? > NORVELL GROUPWISE > > >>> lynn.wright@cox.net 01/28/04 02:52PM >>> > What type of email program are you using? > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Anna Graves" <agraves@mailclerk.ecok.edu> > To: <TXWISE-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2004 1:38 PM > Subject: [TXWISE-L] help what can i do to stop the emails? > > > > help what can i do to stop the emails? > > anna > > > > > > >
